Financial aid in Wallonia: Audits, grants and solutions for your energy projects

Improving the airtightness of your installations, reducing your energy losses and optimising your ventilation can represent a substantial investment. To help you do this, Wallonia offers a range of financial aid, subsidies and financing solutions. From 2025, an AMUREBA audit will be compulsory before you can benefit from any other aid. This preliminary diagnosis will enable you to identify the most effective energy improvement levers, guaranteeing optimum use of existing support schemes.

1. Des Primes

The Investment Allowance is aimed at SMEs and large companies located in Wallonia. It covers between 5% and 30% of the cost of the work, which can reduce, for example, a €20,000 project to a net cost of €14,000 if you obtain a 30% bonus. The application must be submitted before the work begins. Once the grant has been awarded and the work carried out, you submit your invoices to receive payment.

2. The susbsides

Before applying for any other grants, from 2025 onwards you will first have to undergo an AMUREBA audit. This scheme, managed by SPW Energie, has two components: AMURE (for industrial companies) and UREBA (for the tertiary sector, such as schools and administrations). These energy audits can be subsidised by up to 70%, significantly reducing their cost (for example, an audit costing €4,000 may only cost you €1,200). Once the AMUREBA audit has been carried out, you can then apply for other grants with full knowledge of the facts and maximise their impact.

In addition, Chèques-Entreprises can finance up to 50% of the cost of an audit or technical advice, reducing the cost of an audit from €2,000 to €1,000. You create an account online, choose an approved service provider and then submit your application.

3. Financial Solutions

If you need additional financial support, there are solutions to support your project after the AMUREBA audit. SOWALFIN offers tailored bank loans and guarantees. Regional Invests can provide you with funds (loans, advances, equity) to support your development. Finally, the Helping Hand Loan allows you to involve private individuals in your circle, who will benefit from a tax advantage by financing you.

From 2025 onwards, the AMUREBA audit will become the first step before applying for other grants, giving you a clear and objective view of your potential for energy improvements. By intelligently combining audits, grants, subsidies and financing solutions, you can significantly reduce the overall cost of your work, while optimising the performance and durability of your installations.

      • Tax advantage

By making energy-saving investments, you can also benefit from significant tax advantages. These tax deductions and reductions provide an additional incentive to improve the energy performance of your building. In practical terms, these tax benefits allow you to deduct part of the cost of your work (insulation, efficient ventilation systems, energy-saving equipment, etc.) from your tax base, thereby reducing the amount of tax you pay. By opting for sustainable improvements, you not only reduce your operating costs over the long term, but you also optimise your tax situation, which helps to make your investments even more profitable.

        In brief

The Brussels-Capital Region offers you a full range of assistance, from direct grants to subsidised loans, subsidised energy audits and personalised support. By planning your project properly, you can improve not only your energy efficiency, but also the indoor air quality of your building. Consult the official links, ask Hub.brussels for help and do everything you can to make your ventilation and airtightness renovation a sustainable, comfortable and responsible investment.
